When abstract creativity and logical office jobs go hand-in-hand! 🤝

I recently started a course in Improv theatre at

I read an article on the hottest skills a UX Researcher should have in their toolbox where practising improv was one of them and simultaneously a co-worker at my internship mentioned a course... So it was fate, I had to do it.

Theatre is something I've been interested in for many years.

I had it as an extracurricular subject in high school and even tried to form a club at my boarding school. But later on, I kind of just placed this interest in a closed box that has been on a dusty shelf to focus on more "formal and important" achievements like education, work and hard skill courses. But now I wish for a new chapter where I combine both worlds because they truly complement each other.

In this course, I can gain stronger soft skills that come in handy when conducting user tests on participants. I can learn to be an active listener, carry a conversation and think on the spot. Yes, and it is also so refreshing to meet up with a group of strangers and play games. No business cards were exchanged, just goofing around.

Are you someone who is stuck in a routine based life consisting of 40 hours of office work and then home to wash dishes? Remember to then sometimes try an escape room, take a sketching class or other activities where you maintain the ability to play, which you likely have oppressed for a while. ❤️
